Facial Implants – Chin, Cheek and Jaw

Chin Implant

A chin implant also could be a simple solution to correct the sagging or fatty tissues in the patient’s neck and in some patients, it is combined with limited liposuction of the fat compartments of the neck.

I place my chin implants through an incision inside the mouth, so no skin incisions are made. This approach allows for no obvious scarring.

The procedure is done under local anesthesia or combined with nitrous oxide or IV sedation and takes approximately 25 minutes. The down time is three to four days and strong analgesics are almost never required.

Facial Implants

Facial implants have numerous advantages over other methods of restoring volume in the facial thirds. Fillers and fat will dissolve over time. Facial implants are made of high grade medical silicone. Almost all facial implants are placed with small incisions made inside of the mouth, and are fixed to the facial bone with micro titanium screws, so they will not move or drop over time. On the other hand, fat, permanent filers and midface lifting may droop and sag over time. This makes them the only three dimensional method of cheek rejuvenation that is permanent and won’t move. The great advantage of facial implants is that if the patient does not like them, or wants a smaller or bigger implant, they can be removed or replaced with a minimally invasive procedure. Facial implants are performed in the office under local anesthesia and IV sedation and is a very short and comfortable procedure. The down time is normally 5 days after the swelling from surgery resolves.
