Narcotic-Free Procedures

Opioid Crisis Tampa

Every day, more than 90 Americans die after overdosing on opioids. What is more alarming is that half of young people who inject heroin turned to the street drug after abusing prescription painkillers. We want to do our part to stop this crisis.

Studies show patients receiving an opioid prescription for surgery were 44% more likely to become long-term opioid users within one year compared with those who received no such prescription.

Pain Control Without Opioids

Rather than prescribing narcotic pain tablets after a procedure, we employ a method of pain control that gives you three days of pain relief without risking the use of an addictive drug. This local, long-lasting anesthetic gives you a comfortable outcome and can be followed up with anti-inflammatory drugs such as ketorolac, or Ibuprofen. Dr. Guerra will discuss your options with you on a case-by-case basis.
